'Mission Impossible' actor Martin Landau is deadLegendary actor Martin Landau died on Saturday at UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles following “unexpected complications during a short hospitalization”. He was 89.

Martin starred in dozens of hits including Alfred Hitchcock‘s North by Northwest, Tim Burton’s Ed Wood and Cleopatra, Mission: Impossible, and more.

”We are overcome with sadness to report the death of iconic actor Martin Landau on July 15th, 2017 at 1:30pm at UCLA Medical Center, where he succumbed to unexpected complications during a short hospitalization. He had just celebrated his 89th birthday,” his publicist Dick Guttman said in a statement.

Martin won the Academy Award back in 1994 for his work as Bela Lugosi in Ed Wood. He was also nominated for two additional Oscars.
