Cristiano Ronaldo pays tribute to fan killed in Mexico

Cristiano Ronaldo pays tribute to fan killed in MexicoCristiano Ronaldo holds a signed Real Madrid jersey as he pays tribute to Santiago Flores, a young fan killed in a school crushed by Tuesday’s magnitude 7.1 earthquake.

Written on the signed shirt reads, “To my No 1 fan, Santiago.” while the accompanying tweet the 32-year-old Portuguese international wrote, “In this moment of pain, I send a huge hug to Santiago’s family and to all the families who have lost their loved ones.”

The boy’s relatives wrote to Ronaldo after the boy’s death to tell Ronaldo that Santiago was a huge fan. At least 305 people died in the quake.

Atletico Madrid announced on Saturday that they would be donating €50,000 euros (£44,000) to aid those affected by the earthquake.
