Herdsmen killings: PDP criticizes APC governors’ Benue visit The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) is slamming the governors of the ruling All Progressives Congress party (APC) for visiting Makurdi, the Capital City of Benue State to sympathize with Governor Samuel Ortom and the people of that state eighteen days after 73 innocent citizens were murdered by Fulani Herdsmen in Logo and Guma Local government areas.

In a statement posted Saturday on its Facebook page, the opposition party said:

“The visits by the APC governors to Makurdi, Benue State was no longer about condolence but to dance and spit on the graves of those slaughtered by bandits.

It took 18 days of begging by the PDP for the governors to consider visiting the state.

It is also outrageous and disheartening for President Buhari to summon the bereaved to Aso Rock instead of visiting them.

This is an insult on our collective sensibility as a people. The bereaved are always visited not summoned”

On Thursday Mr Ortom confirmed the death of six persons in fresh attacks on Logo, Guma and Okpokwu LGAs of Benue state the day before by suspected Fulani herdsmen when he played host to leaders of Southern and Middle Belt Forum at the Benue Government House in Makurdi.
