Neymar’s father has confirmed in an interview with ESPN that the Paris Saint Germain superstar will be out for two months.
He was carried off the pitch on a stretcher after suffering an ankle injury in the 3-0 win over Marseille on Sunday.
The Brazilian forward will be unavailable next week to face Real Madrid in the Champions League last-16 second leg.
“PSG already know they will not have Neymar in the next few games, six weeks minimum because this treatment will last six to eight weeks. That is already certain, regardless of surgery. What we can’t do is something that may cause a fracture in the future,” Neymar Sir said.
His absence from the Madrid match on Tuesday is a huge blow with PSG attempting to overhaul a 3-1 first-leg defeat at the Bernabeu.
“Yes, of course, he is out against Real Madrid,” said his father.
It is absurd if anybody thinks otherwise.”
