The Kaduna state Government has reacted to the armed robbery attack that claimed the lives of former Commissioner for Education in Katsina state, Prof. Halimatu Sa’adiya Idris and several other travelers along Abuja-Kaduna expressway on Sunday.
Late Professor Sadiya was buried at 1.20pm according to Islamic rites at the Isa Kaita Muslim cemetery after a funeral prayer was conducted by the Chief Imam of Sultan Bello Mosque, Sheikh Sulieman Adamu at the Islamic Learning Centre mosque, Kaduna.
The Governor of Kaduna state Nasir El-Rufai on Monday promised to end the activities of armed robbers and kidnappers within the state particularly along the Abuja-kaduna highway.
“Governor Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai was represented by Malam Uba Sani who led the government’s delegation to attend the funeral prayers of late Professor Halimatu Sadiya Idris. May God forgive her and grant the family the fortitude to bear the tragic and irreplaceable loss. The Kaduna State Government is working with the Federal Government and Security Agencies to ensure the Armed Robbery and Kidnappings along the Abuja-Kaduna highway, as well as within the state comes to an end. The life of every citizen matters,” the governor said on Facebook along with the photos below:
